KEY POINTS:
A new Telecom chief executive is expected to be appointed by the end of June, chairman Wayne Boyd said at the company's results presentation yesterday - the last for incumbent Theresa Gattung.
The company has been seeking a new leader since Gattung's resignation three months ago after seven years in the job.
"The board's made good progress in the search for a CEO to replace Theresa," Boyd said.
"We currently have a shortlist which includes internal and external candidates. We expect to progress the assessment of that shortlist over the next four weeks and believe we will be in a position to announce a new chief executive before the end of June."
While Gattung was nominally still in charge of the company, the presentation was dominated by Telecom chief financial officer Marko Bogoievski - one of the front runners for her job.
Also in the running is Paul Reynolds, head of British Telecom's wholesale unit.
