Telecom gets it right

JetStream, Telecom's broadband service, is now available at Piha - some time after the company featured the west Auckland beach as a place where broadband was just a pedicure away.

The company advertised the product extensively, using the theme of a company executive holidaying in Piha using JetStream to videoconference into a board meeting while her partner painted her nails under the desk.

But she couldn't have made that call because Telecom did not have JetStream at Piha when the ad screened.

Telecom said yesterday that JetStream was now available in (most of) Piha.

The head of Xtra's internet and online marketing, Chris Thompson, said JetStream was available to 77 per cent of Telecom customers in Piha.
