Telecom has complied with quality measures for its local residential telephone service for the 2008/09 financial year under the telecommunications service obligations (TSO), the Commerce Commission says.
But the commission said Sprint International had narrowly missed a performance target in one quarter during the June year for TSO relay services, which enabled hearing impaired telecommunications users to make relay calls.
One of the service quality measures involving Sprint required that at least 85 per cent of calls would be answered by relay assistants within 15 seconds
In the first quarter 84.2 per cent of calls were answered within 15 seconds, but that failure was not sufficient to trigger a performance penalty, the commission said.
