Telecom appoints new independent director

Sue Sheldon was appointed an independent director of Telecom yesterday - effective immediately. She sits on several boards including Freightways and Contact Energy.

Telecom chairman Wayne Boyd said Sheldon would bring "a range of additional skills that would complement the board at this time of exceptional change for Telecom".

She was recommended by the Shareholders' Association.
