KEY POINTS:
Slingshot has rebranded itself "a better place", but it is a place without co-founder Annette Presley.
Presley had long been the public face of Slingshot, the residential service arm of phone company CallPlus, famously using bread to compare the price of internet services between it and Telecom.
But she was cut from the company's advertising last year after a public split with husband and business partner Malcolm Dick.
Presley's departure from day-to-day running of the company to "pursue new opportunities" was announced in a company press release while she was holidaying in Fiji. When contacted by reporters Presley denied she was leaving.
The Slingshot ads continued without her, but had a Presley-esque voice-over.
Last week the company unveiled a branding makeover including a 52m banner across one floor of its Symonds Street head office.
The company logo remains the same, but TV ads now rely on stick figures as spokespeople.
Slingshot says the new advertising is designed to be "simple, honest and to the point".
