The results of a Commerce Commission review of entry to the mobile phone market have been delayed. The regulator said new developments needed to be evaluated.
These included TelstraClear's plan to launch mobile services in Tauranga next year and Vodafone's recent deal with three potential resellers.
The commission had expected to make an announcement at the end of this month, but now says it will not be forthcoming for several more weeks. The market is dominated by Telecom and Vodafone. The review is to see whether further investigation is required into "possible changes to the regulatory framework".
