The Australian arm of state-owned telecommunications company Kordia has lined up a $90 million contract with a coal seam gas project.
Kordia Solutions Australia, which last week revealed it was looking for an outside investor or partner to help expand its business, yesterday said it had secured a contract with Australia Pacific LNG after a competitive tender process.
It involves Kordia supplying communications and controlling the infrastructure for the project over a 100,000sq km area.
The company's Australian managing director, Peter Robson, said Kordia would now start work on the two-year project incorporating network design, engineering, procurement and construction for both fixed and wireless services.
"Kordia is looking forward to extending our extensive infrastructure experience in the telecommunications sector into a resources industry looking for innovation and best of breed solutions," Robson said.
