IT pay rises modest

Salaries in the IT and telecommunications sector have risen a modest 2 to 7 per cent over the past year, according to The Hudson IT & T Remuneration Guide. Overall, IT & T employees and contractors remain in demand, says Campbell Hepburn, national practice manager at Hudson.

"Organisations have been slightly more cautious during the past year - even in areas where there are skills shortages," says Hepburn.

"In the telecommunications sector in particular, we have noticed an increase in activity following the Government's announcement of re-regulation of the telecommunications sector."
