KEY POINTS:
The popularity of Apple's iPhone is proving to be good news for local start-up Tomizone which provides wi-fi hotspot services in New Zealand and Australia.
The company said demand for a new support service it launched in early July for iPhone and iPod Touch users had led to a 40 per cent increase in Tomizone hotspot numbers and a 60 per cent increase in user registrations.
"People are looking for a good web experience on their iPhones, so they are seeking out places where internet access is fast and affordable," said Tomizone's chief executive Steve Simms.
