Digital network expands

Wireless communication network company Broadcast Communications is expanding its digital microwave radio network into Queenstown.

An upgrade costing nearly $2 million, including a new mast at the Coronet Peak transmission site, will provide phone and internet backhaul services.

Managing director Geoff Lawson said the expansion would increase competition for phone and internet service providers.
