Death knell sounds for dial-up

The days of dial-up internet access are nearly over as global demand for broadband booms, research firm IDC says.

Worldwide broadband subscriptions are set to almost double in five years to nearly 400 million in 2010 with services revenue also predicted to reach US$122.4 billion in the same year.
