The Commerce Commission wants to keep regulating most aspects of the telecommunications industry that it now covers.
It has been considering whether it should continue regulating 10 of 13 services originally covered under the Telecommunications Act 2001.
The commission released a draft report yesterday recommending to the Minister of Communications that its regulation of all 10 services under review be extended for two years from December 19, 2006.
The commission is proposing that June 28 be the closing date for submissions on the draft report.
