KEY POINTS:
Australian fibre-optic network company Amcom Telecommunications, owner of fibre-optic networks in Australia, last night said it had been in talks with Telecom but added the discussions did not cover its ownership or a merger.
In a statement earlier yesterday Amcom said it had spoken to various other companies, "including but not limited to Telecom, regarding inter-organisational services and industry rationalisation."
