Telecom's Australian subsidiary is providing services to a new telecommunications venture planned by two directors of the failed One.Tel venture.
Telecom has offered services for resale to help TeleOne deliver cheaper interstate and international telephone calls in addition to fixed wire to mobile links.
"We do confirm that [Telecom subsidiary] AAPT is providing services to TeleOne, and the credit risk associated with these services has been assessed and managed adequately.
"They met our criteria," said a Telecom spokesman.
Telecom's Australian operation is seeking to increase use of existing assets across the Tasman, particularly its underused network. Former One.Tel chief financial officer Mark Silberman and the company's executive director Kevin Beck launched their new junior telco TeleOne in Sydney yesterday.
They will use office equipment and fittings from the fire sale of One.Tel assets after the company's collapse.
