Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, said September sales at US stores are rising within its forecast range of 2 per cent to 4 per cent, despite closing more than 100 stores in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama because of flooding, curfews and power outages in the aftermath of the hurricane.
