Fifty new fashion-oriented stores, the second stage of the Sylvia Park shopping centre, open tomorrow.
The opening of the 7500sq m Mt Wellington development by Kiwi Income Property Trust will be marked by a blessing by the iwi of Marutuahu, acknowledging the ancient stream that once crossed the site. The stream was recognised in the flooring design in the fashion precinct.
Angus McNaughton, chief executive of the trust, said Kookai and Roxy from Australia were new to New Zealand.
Hartleys, Max, Country Road, Sussan, Hallensteins, Jay Jays, Colorado, Amazon, Hannahs, Merric, Line 7, Preview, Earth Collection, Angela Daniel, Esprit, Bendon, Jacqui E, Meccano, Principals, Michael Hill, Napoleon Perdis, Health 2000 Skin, Bling, Life Pharmacy, Cue, David Lawrence, Glassons, Roxy, Shine, Just Jeans, Globe, Canterbury, Jeanswest, K&K, Barkers, Oroton, Lovcat, Staxs, Mark Richard, Portmans, Dotti, Hush Puppies, Shoo Biz, Silver Moon, West Coast Coffee and Sunglass Hut will also be represented in the centre.
The fashion precinct will open at 10am tomorrow, then move to 9am thereafter.
Stage three is expected to be finished by the second quarter of next year.
