The liquor licence of an Auckland Nosh store will be suspended for five days after the upmarket grocer sold alcohol to an underage customer during a police sting.
Nosh Greenlane, one of the stores sold this month to Mad Butcher-owner Veritas Investments, was caught out during a "controlled purchase operation" on a Saturday in June, according to the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority.
Following this sting, the police applied to the authority and said that the Greenlane store sold alcohol to someone under 18 and that the manager at the time failed to conduct a licensed premises in a proper manner.
Nosh Greenlane did not dispute the application and the authority said the store agreed that its off licence should be suspended for five days from Saturday 27 September.
One of its manager's certificates was also suspended for 28 days from this date.
