Department of Labour inspectors have found 19 shops open today despite Easter Sunday trading laws.
It is an offence for shops to open on Good Friday and Easter Sunday unless they meet exemption criteria.
Owners or occupiers of shops that breach trading laws can be prosecuted and fined.
Inspectors visited 26 shops around the country today and 38 shops on Good Friday, when 22 were found to be open.
The total number shops open across both Easter non-trading days this year was 41, compared with 39 last year and 38 in 2010.
