Countdown shoppers could in for a shock if they've beefed up their grocery buy to get more Disney dominoes.
Millions of the plastic Pixar collectables have been handed out in the popular promotion but now the supermarket chain's stocks are low, and some stores have run out already.
NZME News Service heard reports today that Countdowns in Meadowbank, Auckland, and Newtown, Wellington, had none left, leaving children and their parents disappointed.
And this afternoon Countdown confirmed the dominoes famine.
"Unfortunately such has been the demand, some stores in the North Island have started to run out. We're afraid that our Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington domino fans have almost collected us dry," spokesman James Walker said.
