Electronic card transactions rose a seasonally adjusted 1.1 per cent in November from October, with strong rises in fuel and durables such as furniture and appliances.
Statistics New Zealand (SNZ) said that for the retail industries the rise was 1.4 per cent, while for core retailing, which excludes vehicle-related industries, the increase was 1 per cent.
Durables rose 3.1 per cent last month after a 6 per cent fall in October, while fuel retailing lifted 3.7 per cent in November, SNZ said yesterday.
