Australian retail sales slide in run-up to Christmas

Australian retail sales fell by 0.1 per cent to A$17.2 billion ($18.9 billion) in November, said the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

The drop, which followed a 0.5 per cent rise in October, was worse than economists had expected.
