Michael Hill International said nine-month sales rose 19 per cent as it sold more in Australia, its largest market.
Sales rose to $269.9 million in the nine months ended March 31, from $226.5 million in the year earlier period, the Auckland-based company said yesterday. In Australia, which accounts for two-thirds of sales, revenue rose 19 per cent to $175.5 million.
New Zealand sales rose 11 per cent to $75.4 million and Canadian sales jumped 82 per cent to $19 million although Canada lagged behind other markets in the third quarter after sales slowed in February.
Group sales at stores open at least a year increased 9.6 per cent in the nine-month period, the company said.
