A supermarket opening in Auckland's CBD this week is expected to be hot competition for a rival which is opening just down the road.
Countdown Auckland Metro in Victoria St West will open its doors tomorrow. Sixty-five staff - 41 of them newly employed - will work at the 2200sq m store.
The new store comes just months before a New World supermarket is due to open a few hundred metres away, at 125 Queen St. Countdown Auckland Metro opens to the public tomorrow at 9am.
