KEY POINTS:
Listed property stock Kiwi Income Property Trust reported this week that Auckland's Sylvia Park Shopping Centre had made $322 million in retail sales for the year to January.
The result was well ahead of sales projections, and with half of the centre's retailers yet to complete a full year of trading, Kiwi Income said.
Strong trading over December and January had contributed to the result which was believed to be the highest figure reported by any shopping centre in New Zealand.
Stage three of Sylvia Park opened in March 2007 and Stage four opened in June, bringing the total number of retailers at the centre to more than 200. The trust said the railway station had also beaten expectations, becoming one of the busiest in Auckland.
