KEY POINTS:
The average daily value traded on the New Zealand stock exchange in July was $154 million, a 15 per cent increase on July 2006.
NZX said today the last week of July averaged $186m, the second highest weekly average of the year.
However, average daily trade numbers fell 1 per cent to 2332 in July. For the year, the number was up 3 per cent to 51,299.
The total capital raised in July was up 270 per cent on the same period last year, with $341m raised. Of that, $265m was shares, mainly as a result of the Pike River IPO.
Total capital raised on the NZX markets year to date was up 38 per cent on the same period last year at $2.99 billion.
