Seven New Zealand companies were among the top 50 fastest-growing Asia Pacific technology businesses, announced yesterday by accounting and finance firm Deloittes.
The Technology Fast 500 list ranks companies from ten Asia Pacific countries according to their revenue growth over the past three years.
New Zealand companies kept pace with a fast-growing technology sector, with 38 New Zealand companies in the Fast 500 - the highest number since the rankings began in 2002.
Energy efficient light bulb manufacturer Energy Mad was the fastest growing New Zealand company at number 12 on the list, closely followed by virtual telecoms retailer Ezi-Pay at number 15. Other Kiwi companies in the top 50 were IBEX, Fishpond.co.nz, Run the Red, Digital Island Communications and Torpedo7.
Going green was the key to success for some, with both the top-ranked New Zealand business and the top-ranked Asia Pacific business making products with an environmental focus.
The fastest-growing company in the region was a Chinese manufacturer of solar energy equipment, Trina Solar, which grew an astonishing 27,500 per cent.
