Voyager Internet has taken over as naming rights sponsor for New Zealand's premier media awards, a position held by Canon for the past seven years.
The Voyager Media Awards, as they will be known in 2018, are run by the Newspaper Publishers' Association and cover newspapers, magazines, and websites/digital including radio and television.
Voyager Internet's chief executive Seeby Woodhouse said he was excited to be involved with the awards and with an industry that used new technology creatively to reach a wider audience in a rapidly evolving digital world.
"The internet has played a major role in making news accessible in real time, anywhere at any time," he said.
"The media awards are a natural fit for Voyager which has been on its own evolutionary path after being named New Zealand's fastest growing company in 2014, to now becoming a maturing business in a competitive space."
The awards, now in their 45th year, will be held on May 11.
