Auckland-based technology company Txtstation has holed another big deal on the international circuit - providing onscreen graphics for the viewer polls and competitions which have run live during US television coverage of the PGA Championship.
Txtstation, which specialises in live onscreen text-message promotion, was founded in 2001 by Matt Coleman. It started out providing services for rugby games and cricket matches on Sky TV.
Since setting up a sales and marketing division in the US it has signed deals with regional broadcasters of baseball and NFL football.
In February it signed a deal with Turner Sports - a division of Time Warner - to provide technology for NBA basketball games.
It also struck a PGA deal in conjunction with Turner Sports, Coleman said.
Each day throughout the golf tournament viewers were asked to interact using their cellphone or the internet and submit their votes to poll questions, such as "The most dramatic PGA Championship moment", or "The best PGA golfer in his prime".
Although Txtstation's sales and marketing focus is international, all the development and graphic design work is done in New Zealand.
The company now offers its services and connections to 100-plus countries, and is working in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Italy and the UK.
