Television New Zealand is expected to announce in the next day it is doing a "swopsies" with Australia's Channel Ten for its new head of news and current affairs.
Ross Dagan is currently deputy head of news and current affairs at Ten.
Former TVNZ news and current affairs boss Anthony Flannery has taken over the role heading the department, and would have been Dagan's boss. Dagan is not expected to start in the job until March.
TVNZ could not be reached to confirm the appointment but it is understood that he signed up earlier today.
Dagan is relatively unknown in New Zealand but it is understood that he was formerly with the English language television service of Al Jazeera.
