Otago Daily Times proprietor Julian Smith has resigned as Newspaper Publishers' Association president and New Zealand Press Association chairman after a four-year term.
Fairfax Group editor-in-chief Peter O'Hara has been elected to the roles.
Smith will continue to be a member of both boards.
