Readership of The New Zealand Herald online, on mobile and in print has risen to an average of 835,000 each day, up 8,000 over the past year.
The increase, as measured by Nielsen research for those aged 15 and over in the year to September 30, comes despite a reduction for the print edition as consumers also use nzherald.co.nz and our mobile and tablet Apps.
Newspaper readership measured 487,000 on an average day, but continues to be more than double any other daily paper. The Weekend Herald remains by far the highest-read and best-selling paper in the country.
Readership on digital devices grew again - audience to our mobile site grew by 71 per cent and nzherald.co.nz up 22 per cent to 1.8m UBs. The total audience of Herald journalism across the week rose to 1.36 million.
Sales of copies of the paper, as measured by the Audit Bureau of Circulation, reduced to 148,702 - largely as a result of a previously announced decision to end an uneconomic programme delivering papers to low decile schools.
