NEW YORK - News Corp has appointed Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes to the additional role of chairman of Fox Television Stations, including its Twentieth Television programme division.
Fox Television Stations chief executive Jack Abernethy will report to Ailes, who shares close ties with News Corp chief Rupert Murdoch.
Ailes will report to both Murdoch and News Corp president Peter Chernin, the company said in a statement.
Murdoch's son Lachlan had been responsible for oversight of the Fox Television Stations group, among other properties in the News Corp media empire, as the conglomerate's deputy chief operating officer. Lachlan Murdoch resigned his post in late July.
