streaming his radio show live over at uStream
- that's right, you can watch it online wherever you are but you can also chat to other viewers from the website or even chat to Glenn (presuming he's not wrapped up on air).
It's a neat concept.
After the interview Glenn usually uploads the video to his
YouTube account
where the whole world can watch it.
And the whole world certainly does watch it, on a number of occasions I've had emails from the United States, Australia & UK from people who have watched, liked the discussion and wanted to continue it via email.
I'm constantly amazed, not every show is attractive to everyone but those that do watch are highly engaged.
Whilst his YouTube channel has had a modest 22,000 views that is only going to increase, as he keeps adding more and more content online he increases the back catalogue.
All of these viewers get to engage with KiwiFM on a daily basis. They can even comment, share with their friends or build into playlists. What a fun way to engage with the radio!
Even better (from my point of view) he is taking the essence of KiwiFM and exposing it to the world, this is the best form of PR for us, this is what we're talking about and feel free to be part of it.
It's still early days yet but it also opens up further sponsorship opportunities whereby Sponsors can jump on board and sponsor a channel.
For example I do a small spot on
The Best Ideas are Free
sharing business ideas every week, rather than sponsor the whole show you could sponsor just a section that's relevant to your business online. Given the increasing demand of positioning in verticals this has to be a win/win for all those involved.
I applaud Glenn for going out on a limb, taking some risks, who knows what happens in the next 12 months but I suspect he is on the edge of something big over there.
