The New Zealand Herald's readership - in print and online - continues to rise, with newspaper readership growing for the fourth consecutive survey period and digital audiences at record levels.
The Weekend Herald is leading the charge, bucking global trends to reach 469,000 readers, up 72,000 readers year on year, and 24,000 on the previous quarter of the Nielsen data. It is New Zealand's most-read newspaper.
Editor Miriyana Alexander was delighted with the increase.
"We've put a lot of attention on the paper, revamping the sections and our popular magazines, Canvas and Weekend, and I'm thrilled they are resonating with readers."
The Herald has increased its average issue readership from 426,000 to 431,000, up 5000 readers from the previous survey, while the Herald on Sunday has also gained 8000 readers, to 316,000 overall - its highest readership since 2014. It has retained its position of best-read Sunday newspaper in New Zealand.
