Herald Pizza Hut coverage wins award

The Business Herald's acting business editor, Karyn Scherer, has won the inaugural Media Award in the 2000 WestpacTrust New Zealand Franchise Awards.

The award was for her coverage of Pizza Hut's takeover of Eagle Boys.

Marketing and business consultancy Action International won best franchise system and best master franchise, while the Robert Harris Cafe in Timaru won best franchisee.

Bill McGowan, Fastway Couriers founder and chairman, received a special award for outstanding achievement in franchising.
