Australian media company John Fairfax Holdings is still in talks to buy IDG titles in New Zealand, more than two months after news of the purchase surfaced. Fairfax spokesman Bruce Wolpe said negotiations with IDG were continuing but would not comment further.
IDG last month sold business magazine Unlimited and youth-oriented sibling ACTV8 to Infego Communications, a company set up by its former managing director, Julie Gill.
The Fairfax deal could include weekly Computerworld, fortnightly Reseller News and monthly PC World.
The deal is the latest in a string of Fairfax acquisitions in New Zealand, including online classified advertising website Trade Me in March, business newspaper the Independent in February and the Rodney Times group in September last year.
Meanwhile, IDG publisher Doug Casement has confirmed he has resigned to pursue other opportunities.
