Fairfax gets go-ahead for Times purchase

The Commerce Commission has cleared media group Fairfax NZ to buy the Warkworth and Takapuna-based Times Media Group mastheads the Rodney Times, the Coaster, the Outlook and associated assets.

Commission chairwoman Paula Rebstock said she was satisfied the purchase would not substantially lessen competition in the sector.
