Canterbury Television is waving goodbye to TV.

Chief executive Steve McCaughan confirmed rumours CTV will now move to a digital platform - in the hope of becoming more profitable.

McCaughan wouldn't confirm how many people will be made redundant.

The regional television station broadcasts more than 20 hours of locally based programming.

Sixteen staff members were killed when its building was destroyed in the 2011 earthquake.
