KEY POINTS:
Canwest Global communications Corp boss and Ten Network director Leonard Asper has nothing to add on the company's review of opportunities arising from Australia's new media ownership laws.
"We've made a statement and, I think, until we make another statement, there's nothing to add," Mr Asper told journalists on the sidelines of Ten Network's annual general meeting (AGM) in Sydney today.
CanWest, Ten's major shareholder, appointed advisers in October to look at opportunities arising from the federal government's media reforms, which take effect next year.
The Canadian company also owns a 70 per cent stake in Canwest MediaWorks in New Zealand, which owns TV3 and TV4, plus Radioworks.
Mr Asper declined to comment on whether the company would favour a structure similar to the private equity joint ventures pursued by rival network Nine, owned by Publishing and Broadcasting Ltd, as well as Seven.
"I don't think I want to comment on what we favour or don't favour," he said.
He also declined to comment on whether he had had any meetings outside his normal schedule, saying he came to Australia every year for Ten's AGM and board meeting.
"I'm here for the annual meeting. I don't comment on my schedule last year or this year."
