CanWest appoints interim chairman

Canadian media company CanWest Global Communications - the majority owner of New Zealand's listed CanWest MediaWorks - has appointed a new interim chairman, David Drybrough.

Former chairman Frank McKenna resigned to become Canada's ambassador to the United States.

Drybrough is a Canadian, a retired accounting firm partner and a member of the CanWest board for two years.
