One of New Zealand's most experienced journalists, Jim Eagles, has been appointed editor of the Business Herald.
Mr Eagles is a former editor of the National Business Review during its time as a business daily.
He is the founding editor of Hawke's Bay Today and before that was editor of the Bay of Plenty Times.
He began his career on the New Zealand Herald and after a period overseas returned to the Herald, working as a political reporter and commentator.
He has also been deputy editor of the Auckland Star, as well as the owner and editor of two community newspapers.
Acting business editor Karyn Scherer has been appointed associate business editor.
The appointments take effect on April 2.
