KEY POINTS:
SYDNEY - More belt-tightening has struck Australia's media industry with job losses at News Limited's magazine group.
About nine staff from News Magazines were retrenched from the publisher's specialist men's division, B&T Today reports.
B&T also understands ACP Magazines cut approximately 35 staff last week from titles including Cleo, Cosmopolitan, Dolly and Shop Til You Drop.
ACP was contacted to confirm the report but the publisher did not return phone calls.
News Magazines chief executive Sandra Hook said Wednesday's retrenchments were part of restructuring efforts and came out of editorial, production, sales and art departments.
The magazine division includes men's titles such as Live to Ride, Modern Fishing, Overlander and Two Wheels.
"Like everyone else we are gearing our business to better manage ourselves in these tough economic times," Ms Hook told B&T.
