The Government is looking for a new director for TVNZ, following a decision by Auckland businessman Stephen Walker not to join the board.
Mr Walker yesterday cited his directorship of rival media company Wilson & Horton as the reason he had decided to decline the offer.
Wilson & Horton is the publisher of the Herald.
Mr Walker, who is also a director of Genesis Power, was last week named as one of two new directors for the TVNZ board.
The other new director is television and newspaper commentator Paul Smith.
