Tech giant Apple is in talks to acquire music streaming platform Tidal, according to reports in the Wall Street Journal.
Sources told the Wall Street Journal the talks may not lead to a deal, but Apple was interested in Tidal because of its links to artists.
Tidal is currently owned by rap mogul Jay Z and other artists including Chris Martin of Coldplay, Kanye West and many more.
A number of the year's most successful albums including Beyonce's Lemonade and Kanye West's The Life of Pablo, were streamed exclusively on Tidal, before being released on other platforms.
In March, Tidal announced it had 3 million subscribers globally.
