Tech firms on fast track

Technology, manufacturing and construction companies make up many of the country's fastest-growing businesses, according to Deloitte/Unlimited magazine's annual Fast 50 Index.

Technology companies make up to a third of the index and manufacturing companies continue to outperform other sectors.

"This year's profile confirmed the trend that emerged in 2005 - fast growth is not just for small businesses and startups - fast growth companies are actually getting bigger."
