Methven appoints NZ chief

Tap and bathroomware company Methven has appointed chief operating officer Gary Nel as its New Zealand chief executive.

Group CEO Rick Fala said Mr Nel would oversee the domestic market, which was Methven's "revenue engine room and strategic hub for development, design and prototyping".

It would also allow Mr Fala to concentrate Methven's growth plan into Britain, the United States and emerging markets in Asia and the Middle East.

Methven Group recently acquired British company Deva Tap Company, trebling its market.

Mr Nel, an executive director, recently managed the company's partial outsourcing of manufacturing to China.
