KEY POINTS:
Receivers have been called in at manufacturer and kitchen retailer Kitchen House.
Chartered accountants and advisers BDO Spicers said Brian Mayo-Smith and Shaun Adams were this week appointed as joint receivers and managers.
"The business grew significantly up until 2006, however the downturn in property developments and the softening of the residential housing market during the latter part of 2007 and 2008 started to take its toll, ultimately leading to cash flow difficulties, and the receivership," BDO Spicers said.
The company manufactures cabinets, doors and bench tops in Mt Wellington and owns seven super-stores and a discount factory outlet, with 29 staff at its manufacturing site and head office, plus 33 full and part time employees within the retail operations.
