KEY POINTS:
Utilities investor Infratil said yesterday it planned to buy back up to 38 million shares. Shareholders in August authorised the buyback at up to $4.75 per share. The company has 443 million shares on issue. Its shares rose 7c to $2.59 yesterday in a market that rose for the first time this year. They have fallen from $2.88 at the start of the year.
