Interest in the New Zealand sharemarket recovered last month, with the NZX reporting an increase in capital raised and trading activity compared with a month earlier.
However, trades on the main board were down 13 per cent at 45,218 in September, and the value traded was down 6 per cent at $2.1 billion.
Market capitalisation fell 1 per cent to $53.2 billion. A total of $2.1 billion in capital has been raised this calendar year, with $341.7 million raised this month.
That was a 200 per cent increase on capital raised during August.
The value traded on NZX markets rose by 23 per cent to $2.2 billion compared with August.
