Need to move a lion or a priceless antique? Left your laptop in Sydney? Try transport company Freightways' new service.
The express package specialist has launched 0800 STUCKNZ because it saw a gap in the market for people needing time-sensitive or unusual deliveries.
Managing director Dean Bracewell said the company had received an increased number of requests for delivery jobs requiring tailor-made solutions. STUCK brought together a range of capabilities within the business to offer a one-stop shop for those with tricky requests.
Recent jobs included moving a lion from Whangarei to Cromwell for a film, reuniting a laptop left in an Australian airport with its owner, and transporting donated organs.
Bracewell said people were often not too sure where to go for this type of service.
He said most things could be moved, even if it required bringing in other kinds of help.
"There are certain things you don't move in any transport business, such as explosives. But if it's physically possible and you have time to connect between A and B, then we'll find a way."
